Event Times - Rain or Shine
The Fair Hill Scottish Games happen every year on the 3rd Saturday in May. This year that will be May 20th, 2023.
We open the gates at 8am and the final ceremony is at 5pm.
This event happens rain or shine – no refunds!
What is your refund policy?
The Fair Hill Scottish Games will happen rain or shine. We work on this event for 12 months to make it as amazing as we can. In the unfortunate event that we have rain on Game day, we do NOT offer any refunds.
What can we bring to the games?
Can we bring a canopy or popup tent?
Unfortunately no. The problem with these tents is that people might not know how to properly anchor their popup tent, which then makes it a lethal weapon should wind kick up. This make this a huge liability issue for all of us.
Can I bring food to the Games?
No, you cannot unless you have a food allergy. If you do have a food allergy please bring the food allergy form with you to show why you need to bring your own food. We have food vendors traveling from all over the country to be here so to be fair to them, we ask that you purchase food from them while at the fair unless you have food allergies.
Can I bring alcohol to the Games?
No, you cannot bring any alcohol of any kind.
Can I bring my dog?
If your dog is a licensed service dog, then yes, you can. Please bring your paperwork showing your dog is a service animal.
Can we bring chairs to the Games?
Yes you can! These include small lawn chairs and camping chairs.
Athletics Questions
What events will you have this year for athletics?
We will have the following events for men and women:
- Caber Toss
- Hammer Throw
- Stone Putt
- Weight Throw for Distance – 28lb and 56lb
- Sheaf Toss
- Weight Toss for Height
Who can enter the Athletic competitions?
Only professionals can enter these competition and they are by invitation only. There are no application or entry forms.
Can amateurs compete in the athletic events?
At this time, the only competitors are professionals

Can I bring my dog or other support animal?
The only dogs allowed at the Games are Service Dogs that have paperwork.
We do not allow Support Animals as they do not have specialized training of any kind, unlike Service Dogs that require extensive training.
